Job Description: Director of AATF Online Resources
1) The Director of AATF Online Resources will be knowledgeable in both French pedagogy and technological resources to coordinate a database of online pedagogical resources that reinforces the AATF brand and status as the premier organization for French teachers.
2) The Director will be responsible for soliciting, editing, and managing materials for the AATF online resources, including those posted on the AATF website and those found on other online platforms.
3) The Director will work with the association President, Executive Director, and others to develop a strategy for soliciting and coordinating the online resources and ensuring that any individuals assigned to submit materials follow through in a timely manner. The Director will promote the online resources on AATF social media in collaboration with the Director of Social Media.
4) The Director will commit to devoting the appropriate amount of time throughout the term of appointment to the duties of the position, as agreed upon with the AATF Executive Director and President.
5) The Director will also have access to website pages related to the Director’s responsibilities.
6) The Director will submit a report to the President for dissemination to the Executive Council at their regularly scheduled meetings.
7) The Director will be compensated with an honorarium of $2,500 per year and will be appointed for a three-year term. The President will conduct a review of the work of the Director in the middle of the last year of the Director’s three-year term and will make a recommendation to the Executive Council for or against a three-year renewal.
The mission of the American Association of Teachers of French is to promote throughout North America the teaching and learning of the French language and French-speaking cultures and civilizations. Our professional organization welcomes and supports educators of French at all academic levels as they seek to broaden their own and their students’ linguistic and cultural horizons to foster and strengthen cross-cultural understanding. It encourages reciprocal communication between all levels of the teaching of French in North America. It shall publish the French Review, which shall reflect the interests of all members of the Association.
